Individual Therapy

Individual psychotherapy can be beneficial in treating a range of personal and interpersonal problems. People attend psychotherapy to get to know themselves better, to make important decisions and to get help to deal with life problems such as stress, trauma, death of a loved one, family violence, rape etc.

Individual psychotherapy is also indicated in the treatment of more debilitating conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse and behavioural problems (school truancy, stealing, lying etc). Psychotherapy can be beneficial in medically applied settings such as HIV counselling, chronic pain, spinal cord injury, stroke etc.
